Lead Capture Pages

Here's an important statement... LEADS are the Lifeline of your business.

Leads are without question the most important elements of your online marketing strategies. That's a mighty big statement to make so I think I owe it to you to explain WHY.

Let me explain what a LEAD is...

list buildingA person who has expressed a desire or interest in something you are offering.
list buildingSomeone who requests more and better details about your offering.
list buildingSomeone who actively seeks you out to ask for more information.

Every effort must be made to 'capture' every visitor's email details. They have come to your page because somewhere along the Internet Highway they ran across a path that led them to your page.

list buildingThey are there for a reason.
list buildingThey might be undecided.

By 'capturing' their email address you can start a campaign to gently remind them why they came looking at your page and the benefits that you can offer them if they follow your instructions. etc etc via your Autoresponder Sequence

Simply put... I have just explained the outline of a Lead Capture Page.

A Lead Capture page is, therefore, a web page that is built purely for the purpose of collecting a prospect/visitors name and contact information so that you can follow them up to convert the prospect/visitor into a Paying Customer.

There are a number of different examples of Lead Capture Pages.

list buildingThe most obvious one is a subscription form that you place on your site.

list buildingPop-up's, Slide-in's, Exit Pop-up's are all examples.

list building Mini-sites/Squeeze pages are designed specifically to collect a prospect's contact info.

Your attempt to capture this information from your prospect has to be very quick, quirky, unique, compelling.

list buildingYou should always use a compelling headline to grab a visitor's attention.

list buildingYou should always outline the benefits they will get by filling out the form.

list building You should be offering an inducement to your prospect. A free gift. An exclusive discount. A one-off report.

Of course, once a prospect requests more information from you, you can then ask them to opt-in to your regular mailing list. This will allow you to contact them on a regular basis and explain in better detail exactly why they should purchase your product or service.

Depending on the product you are promoting it could be beneficial, in addition to capturing your prospects name and email address to also ask them for their phone number and mailing address. This would give you an alternate way to continue your contact with your prospect.

Once you have established a relationship with that prospect/subscriber, by providing them with some valuable information, you can then start the process of going for the sale, the up-sell and the back-end sale.
You must get into the habit of filtering your prospects through your 'sales machinery'. Done correctly, Lead Capture is the life-blood of your business

Now you know how and why you are 'capturing' your visitors details. But what are you going to do with the information?

Let's move on to the next stage... The Autoresponder

"Ken, Thanks for the helping hand. I like your weird sense of humour and love the way that you are prepared to give all of this information away.

I am now actually focusing on what I am supposed to be doing.

Thank you again,
