Website Building Tools
I can guarantee that this section will cause some of you a great deal of grief!
The reason - Not everyone is going to be using the same website editor. Simple answer.
Now then...Rather than get all excited. Please use the Profit-Blaster Forumto get your problems
solved. We'll outline some of the better Website Editors to use but the choice is entirely
yours.
Website Editors
HTML. Hyper Text Mark Up Language. This should really be left to those who are
proficient in using the codes. Definitely not one for the beginner.
FRONTPAGE & DREAMWEAVER. These are 2 of the most common editors used today.
There are arguments for both of them, but what you need to consider is that both require quite a
substantial investment for someone just getting started.
NVU is a free open source WYSIWYG editor (What you see is what you get). You can
get this from www.nvu.com It is constantly being updated and would be a great choice if you are
running on a tight budget.
XSitePro - At $195 this may seem like a huge outlay, but when you realise what you
are getting for your money you should be making this money back in next to no time. It provides you
with a ton of templates that you can use for your sales pages etc etc. It is especially friendly
for those building Adsense and Affiliate sites. Does the style that you chose need CSS code
(Cascading Style Sheets)? No problem. Make one change and it changes throughout your site.
The tutorials within XSitePro are absolutely brilliant. They show you step by step how to create
your website and it even does all the Search Engine Optimisation for you.
FTP Tools
So, we've explained a few of the web design tools for you. The ones we have chosen already have ftp
facilities built into them. Hence the recommendation.
However, if you are using NVU or some other WYSIWYG editor you will need to have your own FTP
software.
What is FTP? File Transfer Protocol. Most Hosting companies have a built in FTP
facility.
There are a few FTP programmes that have stood the test of time and are recommended by just about
everybody, for their ease of use.
Here are some of them:
CuteFTP
SmartFTP
NVU-FTP
FileZilla (free product)
Don't forget that Frontpage,Dreamweaver and XSitePro and SiteSell have their own FTP
programmes.
Outsourcing.
At the moment you are probably wondering if you are capable of doing all of this
'stuff'. The answer has to sit with you.
If you decide that doing all of this on your own is quite daunting then don't despair you won't be
alone.
There are untold websites out there that are dedicated purely to building websites for people.
Some sites will sell you the template and you work within those boundaries.
Other sites will design the whole thing for you.
Remember what I said about Web Designers? You MUST stay in CONTROL.
Here are 3 of the better known sites to look at.

www.guru.com
www.rentacoder.com
Bull Free Tip...
A good trick to use to find good designer is to look at the bottom of any well-designed site and
you will find...'Designed by'...
Please make sure that your designer:
Knows about your industry. If not, educate them.
Ask for references before they undertake your work.
Decide your budget. Don't just jump at the cheapest quote.
So now you have an idea of what is required to get your site up and running.
If you feel that this looks all too much work for you, and it is going to be a big stumbling block
then maybe the best decision is to get someone else to design your site for you.
Please refer to the FORUM. If you have found a good designer, let the members know. If you've had a
rough time, let the members know.
Can't quite get to grips with some of the software applications? Go to the FORUM and ask
someone.
So....What have you got so far?
Passion
Knowledge
Product/Service/eBook
Domain Name
Hosting
Website
We've still got quite a bit of the journey still to go, but, it should all be downhill from now on.
So, if you feel comfortable, then let's head off to the next step.
